I have some exciting news that will have a positive impact on the future of SportsField Management magazine.

Many of you may not be aware, but editorial direction for the magazine through the years has been assisted by the SFMA Editorial Committee. Under the association’ s committee structure, the editorial committee was tasked with“ Ensuring that SportsField Management magazine contains information relevant to the sports field manager; to provide ideas and contacts for articles for publication; to provide aesthetic and other recommendations on functionality and readability.”

The Editorial Committee has traditionally been selected and organized by SFMA, and members would serve the committee for one year— typically beginning around March.

However, as SFMA seeks to streamline and optimize its committee structure, we have decided to move from the SFMA-centric Editorial Committee format to a traditional Editorial Advisory Board structure managed on the SportsField Management side of things and overseen by me.

I am extremely thankful to everyone who has served on the SFMA Editorial Committee throughout the years, and I am pleased that several past members of the committee have agreed to stay on under the new Editorial Advisory Board structure.

The new format better aligns with industry standards, and will allow for greater consistency of advisors over time. This group of trusted industry professionals will serve a vital role shaping the editorial direction of SportsField Management.
