Ride to Work Day

THE 35TH ANNUAL Ride to Work Day takes place on June 9, 2026. Organized by the rider wear manufacturer Aerostich, Ride to Work Day encourages all riders, regardless of make or model, to ride their motorcycle or scooter to work to raise public, business, and government awareness of motorcycles as modes of transportation.
The nonprofit organization to support the event was formed in 2000, and it occurs annually on the second Tuesday in June. The event seeks to raise awareness of the benefits of more people using motorcycles as transportation instead of cars. According to Ride to Work, riders typically reach their destination 20 % more quickly than car drivers. They also use fewer resources per mile and take up less space on the road and in parking areas. As riders, we can attest that riding brings mental benefits as well.
Ride to Work Day seeks to demonstrate that motorcyclists are from all walks of life and that riding instead of driving can reduce traffic. The Ride to Work website offers free resources regarding lane splitting and filtering, parking, traffic, and more.
“ People do not usually think about or fully appreciate the comparative benefits of riding for useful everyday transportation and also tend to minimize the range of negatives resulting from a near-universal dependence on autos,” said Aerostich’ s Andy Goldfine, the event founder.“ Cars are wonderful vehicles, but the reasons to ride instead of drive go well beyond carbon footprints.”

Rider fully supports Ride to Work’ s mission and encourages all riders to get on their bikes on June 9 and share their ride on social media with the hashtag # ridetowork.
