The 2026 AFT series is off to a sensational start with SuperTwins rookie Kody Kopp leading his Harley‑Davidson XG750R to the top of the leaderboard. He made history by becoming the first rookie to win his inaugural SuperTwins race. Estenson Racing’s Dallas Daniels, the 2025 champ who rides a Yamaha MT‑07, won’t let the season go without a fight and continues to put pressure on Kopp.
Kopp’s dominance in the SuperTwins class was evident before the first Main Event at the season‑opening double‑header in Daytona. He posted the fastest time in qualifying, won his heat race, and won the four‑lap dash‑for‑cash Mission Challenge. In the first race, Daniels was catching up quickly to Kopp before Trent Lowe (Honda CB750 Hornet) crashed, allowing Kopp to hold the lead and finish 0.150 second ahead of Daniels. Henry Wiles (Kawasaki Ninja 650) finished 3rd.
The second race at Daytona was a Mission Triple Challenge, a format introduced last year that includes a 10‑lap sprint, a 15‑lap race for double points, and a 20‑lap race for triple points. The highest total points determine the winner of the event. After a red‑flag restart, Davis Fisher (KTM 790 Duke) claimed the 10‑lap sprint ahead of Daniels and Aidan RooseEvans (Harley‑Davidson XG750R). Kopp turned on the heat for the 15‑lapper, holding 1st without competition, while Lowe snagged 2nd and Fisher finished 3rd. The 20‑lap race saw Kopp once again hold the lead, with Daniels finishing 2nd and Fisher in 3rd. After the points were tallied, Kopp’s 5‑1‑1 performance earned him the win, followed by Daniels’ 2‑4‑2 and Fisher’s 1‑3‑3.
The Atlanta Short Track saw a shake‑up as Daniels put his head down and claimed his first victory at Senoia, Georgia, with a comfortable lead, although the Harleys of Briar Bauman, Kopp, and Brandon Robinson put pressure on him in the beginning. Kopp maintained a strong performance to earn 2nd, while Bauman secured 3rd.
Briar Bauman found his time to shine during the Ventura Short Track, earning his third straight victory at the California venue. From the start, Bauman raced away from the rest of the field. Kopp kept Bauman within sight but couldn’t close the gap, finishing 2nd. Daniels squeaked past Fisher to finish 3rd after a mechanical issue with Fisher’s KTM.
As of this writing, rookie Kopp leads the standings with 84 points after two wins and two runners‑up. Daniels is in 2nd place with 77 points, followed by Bauman with 62. Next up is the Silver Dollar Short Track in Chico, California, on May 2.
The 2026 King Of The Baggers season is shaping up to be an Indian vs. Indian battle as teammates Hayden Gillim and Troy Herfoss stand within one point of each other, while Harley’s Bradley Smith is 26 points behind Herfoss. But with only four of 14 rounds complete, the Harley‑Davidson Road Glides still have plenty of time to change the game.
Hayden Gillim joined the Indian factory team after the company signed a multiyear deal to combine racing efforts with Vance & Hines. Gillim won the 2023 championship on the Vance & Hines team aboard a Harley‑Davidson, and he’s showing that he can perform just as well, if not better, on the Indian Challenger.
The Daytona double‑header started with the #1‑plated Harley Road Glide of Kyle Wyman leading the first lap, but Hayden Gillim overtook him leading into the second lap and held on. Throughout the first race, Wyman and Herfoss exchanged 2nd place numerous times, with Herfoss holding 2nd at the finish ahead of Wyman and Harley rider Bradley Smith.
Race 2 started with Gillim once again in the lead ahead of Herfoss and Wyman. However, with two laps to go, Gillim ran into a problem with his Challenger and had to pull off, unable to continue the race. With Gillim off the field, Herfoss took the lead, and it seemed sure Wyman would snag 2nd before Indian factory rider Rocco Landers swept past him in the final lap, inching his way to 2nd.
The Road Atlanta double‑header saw Gillim back in action, winning both main events, setting a new lap record, and winning the Mission King Of The Baggers Challenge. Gillim and Herfoss exchanged the lead throughout the first race, while Wyman crashed out in the first lap. In the end, Gillim held onto the lead, with Herfoss right on his tail and Harley rider Bradley Smith claiming 3rd more than 2 seconds back.
Race 2 at Road Atlanta made KOTB history with a full‑Indian podium. Gillim held a comfortable lead to the checkered flag with teammate Landers following behind. Smith held 3rd for much of the race before Herfoss worked his way past him and secured the spot.
After four rounds, Gillim leads the standings with 82 points, followed by Herfoss with 81 points and Smith with 55 points. The series continues at Road America in Wisconsin, May 29‑31.
The Harley‑Davidson Bagger World Cup is a new series organized in partnership with MotoGP to take bagger racing to the international stage. The series kicked off at the Grand Prix of the Americas, March 27‑29, at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
The Bagger World Cup is fielding four teams with nine bikes for its inaugural season. Racing for Australia’s Joe Rascal Racing are Cody Wyman, Eric Granado, and Archie McDonald. The Niti Racing team from Indonesia includes Dimas Ekky Pratama and Oscar Gutiérrez. The ParkinGO Team from Italy is a one‑rider team with Filippo Rovelli. The U.S.’s Saddlemen Team fields Travis Wyman, Cory West, and Jake Lewis.
The season‑opening double‑header saw wins for Archie McDonald and Oscar Gutiérrez. In Saturday’s race, McDonald’s teammate Granado put pressure on him in 1st but fell back after losing the front under braking, allowing Lewis to take 2nd and Rovelli to take 3rd.
Sunday’s race once again saw McDonald and Granado at the front, but Gutiérrez kept them within sight and finally overtook both to claim the victory, with McDonald crossing the line in 2nd and Granado in 3rd. However, McDonald received a 3‑second penalty for failing to complete the Long Lap after exceeding track limits twice, resulting in Granado being pronounced 2nd and McDonald 3rd.
With two races complete, McDonald leads the standings with 41 points followed by Gutiérrez and Lewis, both with 33 points. Next up is the MotoGP Grand Prix of Italy, taking place at the Mugello International Circuit, May 29‑31.
The Super Hooligan series, created by Roland Sands and featuring a broad range of motorcycles with displacements 750cc and up as well as electric bikes, is one of the most thrilling MotoAmerica events. The opening double‑header at Daytona excited crowds with tight groups and a dizzying number of lead swaps. With a grid of 40 competitors in both main events, it was the Saddlemen team that reigned supreme, netting a 1‑2‑3 finish in both races aboard Harley‑Davidson Pan Americas.
James Rispoli with the #1 plate secured the top spot in the first race after six laps of action, followed by teammates Cory West and Jake Lewis. Aside from the Pan Americas, other bikes in the top 10 included a Harley FXR, two Ducati Streetfighter V2s, three Yamaha MT‑09s, and a Yamaha XSR900.
Race 2 saw a podium shuffle as Jake Lewis crossed the finish line ahead of teammates West and Rispoli after Rispoli was suddenly overtaken in the final lap, dropping from 1st to 5th before fighting his way back onto the podium. Gus Rodio aboard a Ducati was a top contender in the tight leading pack before bumping against the wall with mere seconds left, dropping to 6th.
The Super Hooligan series returns at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, May 15‑17.
