Zero Motorcycles recently announced key updates to its XB and XE electric motorcycle models. Shifting global trade dynamics have driven changes to U.S. pricing and delivery timelines. Zero Motorcycle dealers and customers had until May 18, 2025, to lock in current pricing before updated tariffs trigger cost increases on new reservations.
CURRENT PRICING DEADLINE
For U.S. buyers, the XB remained at $4,195 and the XE at $6,495 for all reservations that were placed by May 18. Reservations made after this date will reflect new, higher prices as Zero adjusts to increased import costs, largely driven by rising tariffs on Chinese-sourced components. Zero has confirmed that customers with existing reservations will not see any price changes, regardless of delivery date.
DELIVERY TIMING
For existing U.S. reservations, delivery begins as scheduled for summer 2025. For new U.S. reservations (from May 1 onward), the company says it expects delivery to shift to the fall of 2025. International customers (Canada, Europe, etc.) will have no changes in price or delivery schedule. This gives U.S. dealers a defined window to capture customers under the current pricing and reassure those who’ve already placed orders.
“Despite the shifting global economy, we’re honoring our early customer commitments,” says Sam Paschel, CEO of Zero Motorcycles. “This move underscores our promise to lead the electric motorcycle segment with both performance and value.”
Zero is also investing in localized supply chain strategies to reduce long-term exposure to global trade volatility. The company has indicated plans to expand domestic sourcing and assembly operations, which could help stabilize pricing and improve delivery in future model years. This aligns with Zero’s mission to make electric mobility more accessible and sustainable.

Electric vehicle manufacturer Verge Motorcycles broke the Guinness World Record for the longest journey by an electric motorbike on a single charge, traveling more than 192 miles.
The record-breaking trek was on the Verge TS Pro electric motorcycle in London on March 22. Verge Motorcycles Chief Marketing Officer Lauri Laukkanen says the accomplishment was a demonstration of Verge’s unique blend of technology and proprietary architecture and adds that the company has not finished innovating.
“This is first and foremost a symbol of setting bold goals, reinforcing trust, and being able to show the reliability and performance capabilities of our solutions in a concrete way,” he says. “It is good to shift into even higher gear from here and head towards new opportunities for putting our bikes to the test.”
Developed by a team of experienced EV specialists, the 192-mile trip lasted for just over 16 hours and took the riders through suburban areas inside the London M25 ring road.
Despite Verge’s unmatched single-charged ride, the self-acclaimed “Tesla of motorcycles” has made significant strides in expanding its charging station infrastructure. In 2023, just before opening its first retail locations in the U.S., it was the first in the industry to adopt Tesla’s NACS charging connector.
The ride was monitored by a precise tracking system, ensuring its battery was not charged at any point during the trip. Vehicle management specialists Webfleet collected data for the performance, and the whole project was captured by the content production company Generate Media. The Automobile Association was on hand to ensure the bike was operable throughout the journey.

Verge Motorcycles recently announced the launch of a new B2B division, Verge Next. This new initiative will open up Verge’s cutting-edge technology platform—originally developed for its own high-performance bikes—to other manufacturers across the global two-wheeler industry.
The creation of Verge Next marks a significant shift in strategy for the Finnish company. While Verge will continue producing its acclaimed electric motorcycles, Verge Next will focus on licensing and commercializing its advanced technologies for use in everything from scooters and mopeds to electric bicycles and motorcycles.
“For years, Verge Motorcycles has led the charge in transforming the future of electric motorcycles,” says Tuomo Lehtimäki, CEO of Verge. “Now, with Verge Next, we’re answering the call from manufacturers around the world who want access to the technology that powers our vehicles. This platform will help them enhance safety, performance, and user experience across their product lines.”
Central to Verge’s appeal is the revolutionary Donut engine, developed in collaboration with Donut Lab, a partner company specializing in breakthrough propulsion systems. The Donut engine — compact, powerful, and uniquely integrated into the wheel — will now be available through Verge Next in multiple configurations and sizes to suit various types of two-wheeled vehicles.
According to Marko Lehtimäki, CEO of Donut Lab and chairman of the board of Verge Motorcycles, the Verge Next team brings together top-tier expertise in vehicle development, making it a valuable resource for manufacturers seeking to innovate in the electric mobility space.
“Our goal is to help the entire industry advance,” says Lehtimäki. “By making these exciting technologies available more broadly, Verge Next empowers other companies to create the next generation of electric two-wheelers.”
Verge reports that it has already received strong interest from numerous global manufacturers, with some actively preparing to integrate Verge technologies into upcoming models.
