Over the past several years , there has been a clear shift in the value consumers place on experience versus tangible goods , according to Housely . “ Consumers are looking for new ways to disconnect from the craziness of our everyday lives and boating has become an avenue for disconnecting . This change has brought in new demographics of boaters with different wants and needs ,” he says .
There is also more inventory now than there was during COVID , which can result in a longer purchase timeline as buyers build a model unique to their own needs , Athmer states . To help meet this demand , Harris Boats is continuing to standardize custom features , as well as offer extensive customization options across their lineup .
Manitou is also meeting demand by offering pontoons that span across the entire segment . From entry level to luxury , they have a little bit of everything .
