Yamaha increases support of All Kids Bike to more than $ 300,000
All Kids Bike , the nonprofit organization equipping schools with everything needed to teach children how to ride a bike , has been awarded a grant of $ 108,000 from Yamaha Motor Corp . USA ’ s Outdoor Access Initiative ( OAI ). This is the fourth grant from Yamaha , bringing its total support to more than $ 300,000 , and will continue the partnership ’ s goal of activating the All Kids Bike Kindergarten Learn-to- Ride PE Program in elementary schools across the country .
“ Yamaha ’ s lasting and generous support is elevating the educational experience for tens of thousands of kids across the country ,” says Lisa Weyer , executive director of the Strider Education Foundation , the 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) nonprofit that operates All Kids Bike . “ Yamaha , above all other brands in powersports , has shown again its dedication to our mission to give every child in America the opportunity to learn how to ride a bike in school .”
To date , Yamaha grants have supported All Kids Bike activations in 27 schools , teaching more than 16,000 kindergarteners over the 10−year life of the program . Most of the schools are in communities where Yamaha ’ s staff live and work .

Each All Kids Bike Learn-to-Ride Kindergarten PE Program is comprised of a fleet of 24 Strider bikes , pedal conversion kits , helmets , a teacher instruction bike and helmet , two rolling metal bike storage racks , SHAPE-standard curriculum , teacher training and organizational support from All Kids Bike for as long as a school operates the program . It includes everything needed to teach every incoming kindergarten student how to ride a bike for a decade or longer .
Harley Q1 sales up 6 % in North America
Harley-Davidson ( HDI ) reported a six percent jump in North America in the Q1 2024 , driven by touring model sales .
“ Harley-Davidson delivered a good start to the year with six percent retail growth in North America , our largest and most important region ,” says Jochen Zeitz , chairman , president and CEO of Harley-Davidson . “ We are very pleased with the reception of this year ’ s new product line-up , led by our new touring motorcycles , and look forward to continuing the positive momentum as the riding season comes into full swing .”
FIRST QUARTER 2024 RESULTS Consolidated revenue in the first quarter was down three percent , driven by a five percent decrease in HDMC revenue , partially offset by 12 percent growth in HDFS revenue .
Consolidated operating income in the first quarter was down 29 percent , resulting from declines of 29 percent at HDMC and eight percent at HDFS , and an operating loss of $ 29 million in the LiveWire segment . The consolidated operating income margin in the first quarter was 15 percent relative to 21 percent in the first quarter a year ago .
First quarter global motorcycle shipments decreased seven percent , in line with Harley ’ s expectations . Revenue was down five percent driven by the decrease in wholesale shipments and lower global pricing , partially offset by favorable mix . Parts & Accessories revenue was down one percent , while Apparel revenue was down 10 percent ,

While North America was up 6 percent in Q1 , Harley ended up flat worldwide , and motorcycle shipments were down -7 percent .
First-quarter shipments decreased by -7 percent , and operating income dropped by -29 percent .
