Dealers reported a decline in every department in December according to composite data from more than 1,700 U . S . dealers that use the Lightspeed DMS . The Northwest and West were down 8.8 % in parts revenue , followed by the South , down 8.6 %. The Midwest was down the least signifi cantly in parts , reporting a 4.5 % drop . Service revenue in the Northwest dipped 18.2 %. The Midwest , down 13.6 %, and the West , down 10.4 %, also reported signifi cant revenue declines in service .
The sales department was down an average of 11.1 % in December . The South was down 6.8 %, the Northeast was down 10.2 %, and the West was down 12.3 % in sales . The Midwest was down 16.5 % and the Northwest was down 16.8 % in sales . Combined revenue in December dropped an average of 10.8 %. The South reported the least signifi cant combined revenue decrease , down 6.9 %. The Northwest was down 16.0 %, reporting the biggest decrease in combined revenue compared to the year ago month .
PARTS SALES Parts sales revenue was up at 690 dealerships and down at 1112 .
SERVICE SALES Service revenue was up at 670 dealerships and down at 1124 .
MAJOR UNIT SALES A total of 589 dealerships were up and 1022 were down .
