SEVERAL OPE MANUFACTURERS ISSUE RECALLS Generac issued a recall on about 64,000 portable generators on Sept . 14 . The recalled generators ’ fuel tank can fail to vent adequately from the rollover valve , causing the gas tank to build up excess pressure and expel fuel when opened , posing fire and burn hazards .
American Honda Motor published a recall on nearly 400,000 engines in lawnmowers and pressure washers . The improperly manufactured camshafts in the engines can cause the starter rope to suddenly retract when pulling to start , posing an injury hazard . The company alerted consumers to immediately stop using the recalled lawnmowers and pressure washers equipped with recalled engines and contact an authorized Honda Power Equipment dealer to schedule an appointment for a free inspection and repair .
Issuing a recall on nearly 3,000 chainsaws , Stihl noted that the impacted chain saws ( photo below ) can take longer to brake than expected , posing a laceration hazard . It advised consumers to immediately stop using the recalled Stihl MSA 300 chain saw ( shown below ) and bring it to an authorized Stihl servicing dealer for the free replacement of the brake drum and brake band .
Manufacturer of ATVs and amphibious vehicles Argo announced a recall on Xplorer ATVs ( pictured at right ) due to a fire hazard . The impacted vehicles , roughly 500 in the U . S . and more than 1,500 in Canada , have incorrectly installed check valves and vent hoses that can lead to fuel overflow , posing a fire hazard . Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Xplorer ATVs . Argo is contacting all known purchasers directly with instructions to contact an authorized Adealer for a free inspection and repair of the fuel system . The dealer will perform an inspection of the vent system , re-route and extend the vent hose , and install a fuel neck insert .
Polaris Industries announced a recall of RZR XP Turbo and Turbo S recreational UTVs , saying the vehicle ’ s clutch can fracture , causing fragments to be ejected from the vehicle , posing fire and injury hazards . Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and contact Polaris or an authorized
Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair . The dealer will replace the primary ( drive ) clutch free of charge . Polaris has
notified consumers to stop riding the vehicles and is notifying all dealers and registered owners directly to provide more details about the repair . This recall impacts about 27,300 UTVs in the U . S ., plus about 660 sold in Canada . The company noted that some of these vehicles were previously recalled .

TRACTOR SALES Briggs & Stratton announced in September : Due to a multi-year market decline for the tractor segment in North America , we will no longer offer Simplicity and Snapper tractors in North America . As such , we ’ ve discontinued the production of four Simplicity and Snapper zeroturns . We will continue to support warranty , parts , service and attachments .
Briggs & Stratton offers a full range of zero-turn mowers in our Ferris brand at multiple price points for residential and commercial markets . We ’ ll work with our customers to transition them to a Ferris zero-turn equivalent .
