Exmark Turf Tracer with XiQ
Ryobi 40V HP Brushless Whisper Series
Ryobi adds to its 40V line
Ryobi introduces its most powerful backpack blower, a 40V model rated at 850 CFM. The unit carries two 40V batteries, and the manufacturer claims it delivers more power than a 58cc gas-powered blower. Runtime is estimated at more than two hours, using 2 8Ah batteries. The model is part of the Ryobi’ s Whisper Series, which it says is 83 % quieter than a gas blower. The manufacturer says it is 40 % lighter than the 730-CFM model it replaces on Home Depot displays.
The manufacturer also has a new 40V 20-in. chainsaw, available in a kit with an 8Ah battery. Ryobi says it will handle more than 400 cuts per charge, and can handle work up to 36-in. The company says the saw delivers more power than a 52cc gas chainsaw.
Exmark debuts autonomy
Exmark has introduced the Turf Tracer with XiQ, its first commercial autonomous mower. Developed over more than four years, the XiQ technology package integrates high-precision GNSS and RTK location technologies with ISO-certified radar detection to detect obstacles and prevent collisions.
The mower’ s mapping technology allows users to create and store property profiles, and each profile is stored online for recall on all autonomous units in a customer’ s fleet. While the Turf Tracer with XiQ is capable of operating on its own using its integrated full-color 4.3-inch display, Exmark has developed a mobile app for Android and iOS. It allows operators to store property maps and manage their autonomous fleet and also provides live machine status updates in real time.
The integrated safety system offers audible and visual alarms to aid in safe operation, as well as collision avoidance, and PTO and ground drive monitoring. In addition, a full-color 4.3-inch display delivers comprehensive machine status data without the need to open the app.
The Turf Tracer is equipped with a 60-inch UltraCut Series 4 cutting deck, and it’ s powered by a Kohler Command Pro EFI ECV749 twincylinder engine. The Turf Tracer with XiQ is built on Exmark’ s Turf Tracer chassis, and a stand-on is included to quickly map properties. The electric ground drive system provides heightened mower control and is powered by an engine-driven generator.
Scag updates its 30-in. walk-behind
Scag updated its 30-in. walk-behind to introduce the SFCII-30 Finish Cut Walk-Behind Mower. The company made the new mower slightly lighter than the SFC-30 model, and improved ease of use for professional operators and those who maintain large properties.
This mower uses a 14-gauge steel deck, with single lever height-of-cut adjustment from 1.5- to 5-in. in half-inch increments. Scag said its offset blade setup is less complex and easier to maintain and can reduce belt replacement time by up to half compared to timed deck systems.
The mower’ s oversized handles feature internally routed cables to protect from potential snags. Handle features toolfree adjustment up and down into 5 positions so it’ s easy to find your sweet spot. It allows side-discharging, mulching or bagging operation. All options come as standard equipment, allowing the operator to change on the fly as needed.
A Kohler Command Pro CV224 engine powers the new model. Proven maintenance-free GT MV 702 transmission delivers dependable drive power. The unit retails for $ 2,999.
