Husqvarna expands Automower group
Husqvarna recently announced new Automower 535 AWD EPOS and 580L EPOS models designed for turf management professionals at golf courses, sports fields, and large facilities. Both models offer wire-free operation and systematic mowing via Exact Positioning Operating System( EPOS) satellite technology. The 535 AWD model is designed for hilly areas on medium-sized commercial turf; it can handle slopes up to 70 %( 35 degrees). It features over-the-air software updates, a 5-blade cutting disc, and is meant to maintain areas up to 0.9 acres.
The Automower 580L EPOS is designed to maintain sports turf up to two acres. It features an 80W cutting motor, adjustable cutting height down to 10mm, rotating wheel brushes, advanced object avoidance, and a durable rubberized body that offers extra protection against golf ball impacts.
Walker Perfaerator opens opportunities
Walker designed its new Perfaerator for landscape contractors who perform recurring lawn aeration jobs. This high production Walker add-on uses a rotating crank and tine assembly which is 42 inches wide with 12 aeration rows. The robust frame and driveline, coupled with convenient serviceability, provide impressive durability and longevity.
Ease of use is improved with better ground clearance when tines are retracted to eliminate trailer ramp and curb snags when backing up. Speed control for optimum aeration is accomplished with an easy and precise speed indicator. A retractable jack wheel supports the back of the unit when attaching or detaching the Perfaerator from the Walker tractor. The Perfaerator attaches to the front of Models C, T, D, B and H( with Model H specific bolt on footrests), and can aerate up to 60,000 square feet per hour.
Toro TurfMaster adds casters
Toro introduced a new TurfMaster HDX 30-in. walk-behind mower with casters. This mower is built on the same 30-in. deck as its predecessor, and the new caster front end gives landscape pros increased mobility in tight spaces.
Toro said the new model weighs in as the lightest 30-in. caster commercial-grade unit on the market and combines lightweight maneuverability with efficiency and hearty performance. The two-point height-of-cut system gives operators the power to adjust the deck height, which means no more walking to every wheel on the mower. Operators can lock the casters to maintain position for improved lines without sacrificing quality of cut.
The TurfMaster HDX is powered by the Kohler CV224 Command Pro Engine, with a one-gallon gas tank to help operators stay on task with fewer refills. The model also includes a blade brake clutch, allowing operators to disengage the blades without shutting down the engine— making it easy to restart after stepping away to remove an obstacle or empty the bag. Plus, the new split deck belt cover streamlines maintenance, providing quick access for cleaning and servicing to keep the mower running at peak efficiency.
