RIDING HIGH ATOP CANADA ’ S LARGEST ATLANTIC PROVINCE
Unless you ’ ve been , it ’ s a safe wager that most U . S . residents know very little about Nova Scotia — Canada ’ s most populated Maritime P rovince that protrudes off the Atlantic Coast like an arm and fist giving a thumbs up . Nova Scotia is big compared to the tiny New England states farther down the Eastern Seaboard , and it ’ s the second most densely populated province , which isn ’ t saying much considering how dispersed most Canadians are .
With my past experience in Ontario and Quebec , including the French Canadian areas near Montreal , Nova Scotia felt distinctly European with an unexpected mix of accents and ancestry .
