58 firsthand one recent year . The area received 20 inches of snow and even though the club announced it was not going to groom , the riding was awesome . A combination of riders who knew the area broke trail ; low traffic and warm weather lent to an easy 80 miles of afternoon riding . We darted through trees with the shadows getting longer as the sun dropped lower , casting horizontal lines on the trail in front of the sled to make the trip back to the day ’ s starting point seem faster .
A Special Treat
The transition between Wilmington and Woodford trails is seamless – like most of Vermont ’ s clubs , each does a fine job . One hidden gem in southern Vermont – when it ’ s open – is Trail 710 . It ’ s a connector trail between Deerfield Valley and Corridor 7 that opens quickly and can close just as quick based on varying weather conditions . Having had the opportunity to ride it one recent season was sheer joy .
After reading an online post stating that it was open due to a recent significant snowfall , we made it a priority to time a ride around it . Maintained by the Wardsboro Pathfinders snowmobile club , this class 4 trail
