We returned to Trail 3 and set sail toward the north , then Ray led us to a site I had visited years earlier but was never able to find again . It was the Delaware Mine site located near where Trail 130 tees into Trail 3 . This historic site hosts formal tours in the summer that take visitors into the mine shaft . Even our winter visit was fascinating , though , as we were able to ride up to the ruins of 150-yearold stone buildings that supported the mine – which operated from 1847 until 1887 . Approximately 8
