Propane Gas Cargo Tank Workshop is hosted in partnership with the U . S . Department of Transportation ( USDOT ) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ( FMCSA ). This workshop is designed to help cargo tank repair technicians , testers , and inspectors comply with current regulations – whether as a bulk motor carrier or as a commercial repair facility – and provide a detailed presentation on how to conduct cargo tank testing as it relates to the propane industry .
The information provided can be used to satisfy most aspects of function-specific training for Registered Inspectors ( RIs ) operating under a Cargo Tank Facility
number . Details will be provided on how the tests and inspections of the tanks should be conducted , what equipment should be used , and what regulatory required methods apply . Reference materials will be provided to assist RIs with inspections they conduct after training . Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration ( PHMSA ) Interpretations , regulatory changes , and explanations of those will be provided , along with valuable information on what to expect should you receive a review from FMCSA .
