What features do you consider important for your POS system ?
As part of our ongoing tracking of the industry , the Beverage Information Group asked readers of Beverage Dynamics and Cheers magazines about their in-store and on-premise technology plans . What ’ s the most important feature when it comes to point-of-sale systems ?
Answer : Inventory control , for both on- and off-premise operators . Alternative payment methods are more important for on-premise operators , while mobile app availability is more popular with retailers .
More on-premise respondents say they plan to invest in either upgrading or purchasing a POS system . Durability and life expectancy are the key reasons for upgrading a POS for both restaurants and retail stores , but scalability is also important , especially for retailers .
Constant Contact was the email marketing platform favored by on-premise respondents , while retail participants preferred MailChimp . The plurality of respondents — 56 % of on-premise and 83 % of off-premise — say they use their POS systems for loyalty programs vs . a specific program vendor .
