The SFMA Board Interest Form is open through September 15, offering members a chance to step into leadership and help guide the association. The Field of the Year application deadline is October 15, and is a celebration of excellence and a showcase of the outstanding work happening across our profession. The committee selection process will open soon, providing another avenue for members to contribute ideas, support key initiatives, and help shape the programs that drive SFMA forward.

We’ re also getting closer to our annual conference, and excitement is already building. This year’ s event begins with the Volunteer Field Rebuild on January 31, 2027, followed by four days of education, networking, and professional growth, February 1-4 in Tampa, Florida. The SFMA Conference and Exhibition remains one of the most impactful gatherings of the year, and I encourage you to stay connected as details continue to develop.

September reminds us that progress is happening everywhere— on our fields, within our chapters, and throughout the association. The opportunities ahead reflect a future built on involvement, connection, and shared purpose. Thank you for your leadership and your commitment to the craft.
