Virtual Virginia Tech School of Turfgrass Ecology and Management
The Fifth Annual virtual Virginia Tech School of Turfgrass Ecology and Management ( VT-STEM ) begins November 4 . The school is intended as a comprehensive introduction to turfgrass management . Virginia Tech ’ s primary focus is to train members of the turfgrass industry who have not had the opportunity or funds to pursue formal university turfgrass training .
The school runs for 13 weeks with both asynchronous and synchronous training materials presented to students each week , as well as a weekly Zoom meeting with Virginia Tech ( VT ) faculty and industry guests from 7-9 p . m . Eastern every Wednesday .
Pre- and post-training quizzes are offered to all students to assess their comprehension of the material . And all students who complete school requirements are eligible to sit for the Virginia Cooperative Extension Certified Turfgrass Professional exams after the end of VT-STEM .
