SportsField Management ( SFM ): Congratulations on the Field of the Year win . This is the first cross country course to win Field of the Year . What does this win mean for you ? Matt Dudley : There has been a lot of effort put into it over the years , and Brownsburg invested a lot into building up the cross country course to what it is . So , it ’ s kind of a goal that we ’ ve had for the last few years . We applied for it in 2021 and didn ’ t get it . We applied again this year , and we were able to win . But it ’ s cool for us to show that all of the work that we put into it paid off , and it ’ s good for the school to show their investment in the property and in the course paid off as well . We ’ re trying to get the best product out there for the student athletes , and we ’ re able to host bigger meets now
SFM : Is that investment — and knowing a cross country course had never won Field of the Year — what made you choose to submit the cross country course over one of your other fields ?
