JOHN MASCARO ’ S PHOTO QUIZ
ANSWER
From page 17
This problem is easy to diagnose , but I wanted to put in an easy photo this month . These two shoes are identical to each other . The reason one of the sneakers is black and the other is white is that the white one has not been worn yet and the black pair was used for painting a synthetic stadium fi eld for a major bowl game . This sports fi eld manager purchased two pairs of inexpensive shoes and wanted to see how much paint he got on them during the fi eld preparation , which used about 300 gallons of paint . He wore the shoes for three days , and , as you can see , they changed color quite nicely and several times — the last layer being black paint . He reported that , “ There are probably six other colors under the black paint .” As for pointers , he said , “ Try to work with as many other people as possible , always be open to tips and tricks , keep trying and don ’ t be afraid to get a little paint on ya .”
