The two horizontal lines running across this fi eld hockey fi eld were obviously caused by an automobile ; however , why it occurred is the amazing part of the story . This sports complex was fl ooded by massive amounts of rain and as the sports fi eld manager was inspecting the park , he could not believe he saw a city vehicle had driven through an 18-inch-deep puddle of water and across his fl ooded fi eld .
It turned out to be a fairly new animal control offi cer for the city who drove out there because a Canadian goose might have had a broken leg . She didn ’ t realize that it was an athletic fi eld , and just presumed she could drive out to get as close as possible ; with the intention to try and rescue the goose and get it to a rehabilitation facility . Once she traversed the puddle and across the fi eld , the goose fl ew off to some distant place . The sports fi eld manager yelled to her , but she did not hear him . She then backed up and drove back across the fl ooded fi eld . He stood at the exit to the complex so he could have some words with her ; but she proceeded to drive right by him , as she did not know who he was , and out of the facility .
Once he spoke with her , she was extremely apologetic . The sports fi eld manager explained the need to communicate if she wants to access the facility in the future .
