Happy New Year!

Welcome to our first-ever combined SFMA Conference Directory and January issue of SportsField Management magazine.

I’ m excited to have been able to collaborate with the SFMA team to make this effort a reality. In the past, the January issue of the magazine and the SFMA Conference Directory were separate stand-alone products. Now, we are able to provide all the in-depth information conference attendees need, as well as additional editorial content for your enjoyment.

The annual conference is the highlight of the year. The industry’ s premier event is a time to reconnect with peers, meet new people, and, most of all, learn new things that will help boost your career.

The education lineup is stacked, with topics across multiple tracks. In addition, this year’ s General Session will offer an inside look at the preparations for FIFA World Cup 26.

The Annual Meeting will provide updates regarding the SFMA; additional receptions provide a bevy of networking opportunities; and the SAFE Bowling event and cornhole tournament offer fun opportunities to meet fellow attendees while raising money for the SAFE Foundation.

Personally, I’ m looking forward to seeing the 2025 SportsField Management magazine Rising Star Award winners, and also connecting with so many industry colleagues and friends.

If you have attended conference in the past, you know the range of activities at your fingertips, and you know how quickly the week goes. If this is your first time, be sure to soak it all in, and be open to introducing yourself to your fellow attendees.

Also, keep this directory handy. The Schedule at a Glance and Exhibit Hall Map / Exhibitor List in particular are vital resources for your time in Fort Worth.

I also want to take a moment to recognize and thank SFMA President Adam Thoms, Ph. D. I value Adam’ s guidance, professionalism, friendship, and the example that he has set.

This is Adam’ s last issue of the magazine as SFMA President. I know he will continue to serve SFMA in the year to come as Immediate Past-President; but before he passes the gavel at the Annual Meeting, please take time to thank him for his tireless efforts as a leader and advocate for the entire sports field management industry.
