Ski-Doo had broad success in snocross last year , winning 70 percent of the finals on the Amsoil Championship Series according to Daku . But the Pro championship was earned by Polaris racer Emil Harr after five-time defending champ Elias Ishoel was injured at mid-season . Ishoel was at the sled unveiling at Hay Days and labeled himself fully healthy and getting ready to try to reclaim his title .
Keeping up a Hay Days tradition ,
Ski-Doo used the sport ’ s biggest event to unveil its latest MXZ-600-RS snocross-focused snowmobile on Saturday , September 7 .
Surrounded by hundreds of onlookers that included racers , race team owners and fans , Ski-Doo Racing Coordinator Carey Daku spoke in broad terms about little tweaks done to make the race sled more precise for the 2024-25 race season .
Immediately thereafter , Daku shared a better description of the updates with Snow Goer readers .
“ We changed a few different things ,” Daku said . “ Obviously , we ’ ve adjusted the engine calibration and shock calibration again this year . We ’ re always refining , always kind of fine-tuning .
“ The rear suspension is where we did a few different things . We have an eccentric limiter strap adjuster now that comes as standard on the sled ,” Daku continued . “ We also changed the coupling in the rear skid , refining the motion ratio that we have there for a little bit better traction off the starts .”
The race-specific sled returns in the REV Gen5 chassis , with Kashima-coated KYB Pro 46 shocks , rack steering and a competition-focused , quick-revving
