Having a pre-studded track with tall lugs was another benefit that riders appreciated , though one tester wondered how much taller lugs should get on trail machines before they start negatively affecting the groomed surface .
We kept the KYB Pro 46 HLCR Kashima shocks in their stock settings and both the front and rear suspensions managed common trail bumps decently . We sought out power line moguls and found this Rave RE had the same attributes as its bigger powered siblings – it likes to be pushed , and we felt we could time the jumps well when standing and ripping through the bumps .
However , the limited power made it a bit more difficult to keep the nose high – both compared to other Raves and also compared to a Polaris with a quicker-hitting 650 twin .
“ This is the first Lynx I wouldn ’ t mind taking on a multi-day , non-aggressive cruise with a tour group , though I might need to build up my shoulder muscles in advance ,” one rider noted .
The 10.25-inch digital gauge , now with on-screen mapping , gained praise from our test team . The oversized side panels received more of a mixed bag in riders ’ notebooks . One tester called the four-piston brake caliper a nice step forward for BRP sleds , while another stressed that aggressive sleds like this should have even “ stabbier ” brakes .
The primary detriment to the machine , though , came when we told our team its as-tested MSRP of $ 19,649 . “ Almost $ 20k for a 600 ?! No , no , no , no !!” one said aloud . “ Maybe if it had a racier engine ,” another said . “ Maybe .”
