RESPONSE
I’ ve been a Rider reader for decades and just wanted to stop to say that I appreciate all you do!( I also wanted to show off my new Honda Gold Wing.)

Steve, thanks for the vote of confidence. Your GL looks sharp! And that looks like Seneca Rocks in the background. U. S. Route 33 through West Virginia is a fantastic road. – Ed.
Three years ago, I decided I would not resubscribe to digital- only Rider. My favorite writers were gone, and one substantially changed his column style / content. But then Quinn Redeker suddenly appeared in my digital subscription. I immediately resubscribed and added the print version because I wanted to save his columns … always wanting to learn more. I benefit from his writing. Y’ all should consider assembling and selling a separate collection of his columns for sale to his many fans. He provides valuable teachings.

The January issue was another excellent one, my friends, with worldwide appeal. From former editor Mark Tuttle’ s writeup on the latest LS version of the CRF300 to Eric Trow’ s“ Iberian Odyssey” tour review, this edition hit many home runs. I have given thought to trying an overseas tour, and the insight on IMTBike’ s tour was very encouraging. Also, I thoroughly enjoy Quinn Redeker’ s insights as well as his exuberance, from tips on fighting fatigue to his youthful overview of the Suzuki DR- Z4SM. Personally, as my boomer generation continues to age, it feels like adding emphasis to smaller displacement bikes is a wave to the future. Now if Suzuki could just see fit to update the DR650S platform as well. Continued success, y’ all.

Thanks for the kind words, Norm. – Ed.
I was inspired by Eric Trow’ s article in the December 2025 issue,“ The Illogical Value of Roads”( Riding Well). There is nothing more exciting for a motorcyclist than the discovery of new roads. But there is one familiar road I enjoy riding repeatedly from my home near Denver to Fairplay, Colorado, for the best chorizo and eggs breakfast. The ride of about 85 miles into the Rocky Mountains on U. S. Route 285 has sweeping curves and mountain towns where you might see people fly fishing along the South Platte River. You’ ll climb to nearly 10,000 feet at Kenosha Pass before descending with breathtaking views of grand vistas on the way to Fairplay. The vastness of this open range shows the true beauty of Colorado. Life is good! Get out and ride!

The December issue was a great read. Regarding First Gear(“ MOTY Backlash”), I have ridden both the Can- Am Spyder and Ryker, and I like both very much.
I currently split my time between a 2005 Honda Gold Wing and a 2013 Kawasaki Concours 14. At 5- foot- 7, both have had their share of drops – thankfully all while stopped. I haven’ t dropped the Concours since I lowered it; I wish I did that 80,000 miles earlier. My next motorcycle will be either a Ryker or Spyder. I’ m leaning, pun intended, toward the Ryker just to name it“ Enterprise 1701”( hope no explanation is needed, LOL).
The Can- Am Canyon Redrock was a great pick for MOTY. And if anyone is so disappointed with the choice that they’ d stop subscribing to Rider, I’ m pretty sure they’ re not going to be missed.
