Today riders will find relics of Route 66 past, including old signs, motels, and other roadside oddities. in sections. But the common thread is intention. You ride it because you want to understand it.
For motorcyclists especially, that philosophy resonates. Riding has always been about more than efficiency. It’ s about connection to the road, to the landscape, and to the
stories embedded in both. Route 66 offers all of that in one continuous line across the country.
It may no longer be America’ s Main Street. But in many ways, it’ s become something more meaningful: a road you choose, rather than one you need.
If you haven’ t ridden Route 66, you should. It might not be the most twisty or thrilling route this country has to offer, but it’ s one that acts as a living time capsule of American motoring history.
