Bonnier has announced that Can-Am has signed on to participate in the inaugural Powersports Super Show in Tampa Nov . 17−19 at the Florida State Fairgrounds .

“ We are excited to connect with powersport enthusiasts across the state of Florida during the all-new Powersports Super Show in Tampa , Florida ,” says Elsa Vilarinho , global marketing director at Can-Am . “ This year is Can-Am ’ s 50th anniversary and we look forward to celebrating our heritage and our passion for the ride with our community . We invite enthusiasts to visit our booth located inside the Main Hall during the event to join us in our celebrations .”

Can-Am has a full lineup of ATVs , side-bysides , three-wheelers , and the recently introduced Pulse and Origin electric motorcycles , some of which will be in Tampa in November .

Twin Rivers Polaris of Yuba City , California , has been sold by the original owners Bill and Patty Fortna to Ben Milner of Work and Play Powersports . After 30 years in business , the couple retired on June 12 , after officially selling .

Milner approached the couple four years ago with an interest in buying the business and the Fortna ' s believe that their dealership is in good hands . “ We couldn ’ t have asked for a better buyer ,” Patty Fortna says .

Milner recently purchased a 40,000 square-foot building to house Twin Rivers

HARLEY-DAVIDSON OF WILLIAMSPORT CLOSES PERMANENTLY

Harley-Davidson of Williamsport , Maryland , has decided to close the doors on the motorcycle shop for good at the end of August , according to a news report by The Herald-Mail .

The Harley dealership is situated just east of Williamsport ’ s downtown , and has been in business for nearly 20 years , The dealership is owned by Mike Vantucci , who also owns Harley-Davidson of Frederick .

Harley-Davidson of Williamsport has primarily been a secondary retail location to Vantucci ’ s main store in Frederick , Maryland , according to Heather Bailey , who has worked for the owner for 29 years . The Fredrick dealership has been in business for more than 40 years .

The shop , which has four full-time employees and one part-time , announced the decision in a Facebook post on Friday , August 4 . it closed its doors permanently on August 31 , 2023 .

While Bailey did not go into detail about the decision to close the Williamsport store , she told the newspaper that it was “ an extremely difficult decision .”

Polaris in the coming months , according to Bill Fortna . “ I ’ m excited to bring in a brand-new face to the dealership ," Milner says . " The crew here is a huge part of this success ."

Bill and Patty Fortna will remain familiar faces at Twin Rivers Polaris and are looking forward to riding the same product they have been selling for 30 years .

NPDA WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBER DON MEYERS , JR .

The NPDA has announced the addition of another highly-respected dealer to its board of directors – Donald B . Meyers , Jr .

Meyers owns several dealerships under the umbrella of Baltimore Powersports Inc ., which include Harley-Davidson of Baltimore , Royal Enfield of Baltimore , and Livewire of Rosedale .

While not new to NPDA , Meyers has been serving on the group ’ s Harley-Davidson Dealer Council . He also served as president of the Maryland Motorcycle Dealer Association ( now part of the Maryland Auto Dealer Association ).

Meyers joined H-D of Baltimore in July 2005 as general manager and minority owner , and in 2012 purchased the remainder of the business and became the dealer principal . He also served on the Harley- Davidson Dealer Advisory Council from 2016 through 2018 .

“ My goal is to provide meaningful work on behalf of the members that will improve their business ,” Meyers says , “ in particular their relationship with the OEM and their state / local governments . I believe the primary goal is to make the Association a relevant force to all Dealers .”

Bob Althoff , chairman of the NPDA , comments , “ Don is a great addition to our already strong Board . He not only has great intellect and experience , but a calm demeanor and a willingness to listen and learn . These attributes will help us further our progress in growing and strengthening the NPDA .”

As the dealership continued to grow , it also changed through its inventory . The Fortna ' s primarily sold snowmobiles and watercraft before moving on to motorcycles . They were able to obtain off-road vehicles soon after , which has become their primary inventory to this day .
