Dealers reported slight upticks in every department in January 2025 compared to the same period last year , according to composite data from more than 1,800 U . S . dealers that use the Lightspeed DMS . The Northeast had the largest gains , followed by the South . The Northwest gained a signifi - cant amount of service revenue , reporting an increase of 11.9 %. Service department revenue saw increases everywhere except the West . The South reported service
revenue of 3.8 %, while the Midwest and Northeast had modest gains of 1.8 % and 1.7 % respectively . The sales department was up an average of 0.7 % in January , with the Northeast , Midwest and West dropping by between 4-5 %. However , the Northeast was up 8.6 %, and the South reported an increase in sales of 4.2 %. Combined revenue in January was up slightly with an average of 1.0 %. The Northeast reported the most signifi cant combined revenue gain of 6.9 %, followed by the South with an increase of 4.2 % in combined revenue .
PARTS SALES Parts sales revenue was up at 969 dealerships and down at 868 .
SERVICE SALES Service revenue was up at 986 dealerships and down at 848 .
MAJOR UNIT SALES A total of 798 dealerships were up and 777 were down .
