OPE +: What are the near-future charging opportunities for vehicles ? Rod Dayrit : As more outdoor power equipment transitions to electrified powertrain , it is allowing for the opportunity for onboard charging capabilities . With advanced intelligent onboard charging systems , you can now have the charger , the battery management system ( BMS ) and the vehicle control unit communicate with each other via CAN ( controller area network ) bus interface to improve the performance and life of the battery and vehicle .
With the emergence of onboard chargers with incorporated EVSE ( electric vehicle supply equipment ) interface control , you will also be able to charge your vehicle using EV charging stations . This

... it will give the vehicle user the ability to power or charge smaller tools or loads off of its own battery .
will allow more access points to charge your vehicles . There will also be more portable power charging stations to charge your equipment built into landscaping trucks and transportation vehicles . This will be vital for full shift usage of commercial landscapers .
Lastly , on-board charging systems that have the ability to transfer power off the vehicle ( V2L or vehicle to load ) on the outdoor power equipment will give the vehicle user the ability to power or charge smaller tools or loads off of its own battery .
