The Aerial Angle peripheral vision camera system provides a wide 270-degree bird ’ s-eye view of the machine ’ s immediate environment . The operator can quickly and easily select from five views on the monitor ; a camera allows the operator to see the area right below the counterweight .
ConSite OIL , a new optional feature , monitors engine and hydraulic oil conditions to proactively catch issues before any fault codes are triggered in the machine – catching oil degradation before damage to critical systems can occur . In addition , ConSite Air allows the excavator to be diagnosed remotely and allows remote software updates .
The new machines also feature enlarged cab space with more head clearance when opening the front window , an 8-inch ( 20.32-cm ) antiglare LCD monitor provides visibility even in bright surroundings , and standard long-lasting LED work lights that continue to light up for 30 seconds after the power is turned off .
HITACHI INTRODUCES COMPACT EXCAVATORS
Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas has introduced a pair of ZAXIS-7 compact excavators . An ultra-short-tail swing radius on the ZX75US-7 allows access to confined spaces , while an ultra-short-tail swing radius with swing boom model ZX85USB-7 productively digs next to walls and guard rails .
Power is provided on both machines by turbocharged Yanmar diesel engines , which feature power / economy work modes to tailor the machine ’ s performance to the task . The power mode provides higher engine speeds when extra horsepower is needed , while the economy mode reduces engine speed when performing normal work . A standard auto idle system automatically reduces the engine to idling speed when all control levers are left in neutral for longer than 4 seconds .
An optional attachment replacement support system simplifies swapping work tools . Attachment flow settings can be adjusted from the monitor and the operator can name and store up to 12 settings . An auxiliary function lever is available with an analog switch , trigger switch and horn for running attachments such as a breaker or an attachment with swing .
SHAKESPEARE DELIVERS BIODEGRADABLE TRIMMER LINE Shakespeare Company has introduced a new trimmer line that is not only more durable than its current professional line but is also more environmentally friendly .
The new Shakespeare Impact trimmer line is made from a proprietary blend of materials engineered to biodegrade up to 30 times faster than a conventional trimmer line in an anaerobic landfill ( 24 % biodegradation within 1 year via ASTM D5511 testing method ), the company reports .
“ Consumer testing revealed that in general [ consumers ] simply don ’ t believe a trimmer line can be both extremely durable and more environmentally friendly , but these next generation trimmer lines have been engineered to facilitate the start of that trend ,” says Brian Thielbar , consumer products business manager at Shakespeare . “ It isn ’ t 100 % biodegradable , but we are working toward getting as close as we can ,” he adds .
The new trimmer line is also 20 % more durable than Shakespeare ’ s current professional grade line . In addition , the line ’ s twisted design provides the added benefit of up to 15 % longer runtime when compared to non-twist trimmer lines .
