CALIFORNIA CORE PROVIDES INCENTIVES FOR ZERO- EMISSION EQUIPMENT Officials from California ’ s CORE program announced that funds are still available to help landscapers purchase , and dealers sell , select outdoor power equipment . The Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project ( CORE ) is a $ 273 million voucher incentive project intended to encourage power equipment users to purchase or lease currently commercialized zero-emission equipment . The California Air Resources Board ( CARB ) launched the Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project ( CORE ) in partnership with CAL- START , a national nonprofit founded in 1992 with the focus on development of clean transportation technologies .
Senate Bill 170 appropriated some of the funds to the California Clean Off- Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project ( CORE ) to provide incentives for professional landscape services in California operated by a small business or sole proprietor . These funds are intended to purchase qualifying zero-emission professional landscape service equipment . CORE does not require that users or dealers scrap existing internal combustion engines .
Any equipment dealer affiliated with a CORE-eligible manufacturer can become an approved CORE dealer . Eligible manufacturers include ECHO , Exmark , Husqvarna , Kress , Stihl , Toro , and more . Manufacturers can also fill the role of a dealer for their own equipment . Eligible purchasers include small business or sole proprietors who provide professional landscape services . OCTANE LAUNCHES PREQUAL FLEX WEB TOOL Fintech company Octane has launched Prequal Flex , an extension of its Octane Prequal suite of soft-pull ecommerce tools . Prequal Flex is a dedicated webpage that is unique to a specific dealership and allows consumers to quickly prequalify for financing . The tool gives dealers the flexibility to reach consumers through all of their marketing channels – including email , social media , text , advertising , events and more – providing consumers with a credit decision from Octane ’ s inhouse lender , Roadrunner Financial , and a shorter , easier path to purchase , the company states .
Because Prequal Flex uses Octane ’ s soft-pull technology , consumers can understand their buying power without impacting their credit until a contract is generated . In addition , Prequal Flex sends buyers into the Octane Dealer Portal , enabling dealers to focus on the highest intent buyers with access to credit .
Dealers can also use Prequal Flex to drive dealership efficiency : By applying a Prequal Flex link to hang tags , nearfield communication ( NFC ) cards and other in-store collateral , dealers can encourage consumers to prequalify for fi- nancing while they walk the showroom floor . Prequal Flex is free to Octane ’ s network of powersports dealers .

STANLEY BLACK & DECKER NAMES NEW COO Stanley Black & Decker has announced the appointment of Chris Nelson as chief operating officer of the company , and executive vice president and president of tools & outdoor , effective June 14 , 2023 .
Nelson joins the company from Carrier Corporation and brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in general management , product development and innovation , and growth transformation . Nelson will report to Donald Allan Jr ., president and CEO of Stanley Black & Decker . He will assume the role of president , tools & outdoor , from current acting co-presidents Robert Raff and John Wyatt . Raff will continue to serve as chief commercial officer , tools & outdoor and Wyatt will become senior vice president , strategy and integration .
