The EETC scholarships given are in memory and tribute to Paul H . Scholten ( 1940 - 2002 ), a founding member of the Equipment & Engine Training Council , its past president , and an advocate for excellence in power equipment service and repair . Scholten spent his entire professional career with the Kohler Company Engine Division , retiring from the company in 2001 as manager of engine service and technical publications . Following his retirement , he served as a consultant to the industry .
YANMAR CE AND ASV BECOME YANMAR COMPACT EQUIPMENT NORTH AMERICA Yanmar Compact Equipment North America ( YCENA ), encompassing the Yanmar Compact Equipment and ASV brands , finalized its status as a single legal entity . The major milestone comes three years after the Yanmar Group acquired ASV Holdings , Inc . Now , the Yanmar Compact Equipment division in North America and ASV have officially joined to become YCENA .
“ This is a huge step for us , our dealers and our customers ,” said Tate Johnson , president of YCENA . “ The alignment of the two brands allows us to focus on expansion , new products and overall strategic growth in North America while finding new ways to serve our customers .”
The Yanmar CE and ASV brands will remain distinct under YCENA , with each brand retaining its product lines and dealer networks :
Yanmar Compact Equipment offers mini excavators , compact wheel loaders and tracked carriers , with a focus on commercial construction , residential construction , utility and rental applications .
ASV offers compact track loaders and skid-steers popular in the landscaping and forestry markets .
Yanmar CE and ASV have operated as YCENA from a commercial standpoint since July 2020 .
“ The alignment as a single , legal entity allows for a better , more capable and dedicated compact equipment entity focused on leadership in the North American compact equipment market ,” stated the company . “ It will also allow a wider range of compact equipment offerings long-term , offer a single way for compact equipment dealers to do business with YCENA and strengthen the global Yanmar Compact Equipment team .”
STEEL GREEN MANUFACTURING MOVES TO NEW FACILITY IN LEBANON , INDIANA Steel Green Manufacturing has begun production at its new facility in Lebanon , Indiana .
Steel Green now has 30,000 square feet – more than double the size of its previous facility – to manufacture its growing line of zero-turn spreader / sprayers . The new location is just a minute ’ s drive from the previous one , “ making it an easy transition for suppliers , staff and customers ,” noted the company .
“ We ’ ve always been proud to say our machines are made in the USA ,” said Brent Mills , co-founder and senior product specialist at Steel Green . “ This new facility gives us room to continue building machines right here in Lebanon as we grow into the future .”
The company ’ s move to the new facility comes earlier than the previously projected May 2023 move-in ; Steel Green credits Merritt Contracting with the facility ’ s expeditious construction .
At the Equip Exposition last fall , Steel Green introduced its largest sprayer yet – the SGXL – as well as two prototype machines – the SG36-EV allelectric spreader / sprayer and the SG54 high-volume sprayer with 100-gallon spray tank .
TYM USA , BRANSON TRACTORS MERGE , GEORGIA BECOMES NA HEADQUARTERS TYM USA and Branson Tractors officially merged and rebranded as TYM North America . The merger , which went into effect in January , resulted in the launch of a revamped tractor lineup .
TYM Corporation , the parent company of TYM North America , will be constructing and expanding upon a new headquarters facility located in Rome , Georgia . The $ 20 million , 142,500-square-foot project will include an expansion of the site ’ s current assembly lines , parts warehouse and the addition of a TYM Technology Institute ( TTI ) for service education .
The company also plans to increase its annual tractor production capacity – from 30,000 to 50,000 units by accelerating its operations in its North American plants . This will be made
