The Audience A recent survey of more than 300 off-road shoppers conducted by ATV Trader , an online marketplace for buying and selling off-road vehicles , examined trends in the off-road market and the results can help inform your dealership marketing strategies for 2023 . Among the off-road participants , interest in UTVs and ATVs was nearly equal , at 36.3 % and 34.3 % respectively . Those who are interested in both quads and side-by-sides made up 17 % of the respondents .
ATV Trader also asked shoppers about their top three uses for UTVs . While trail riding was the top intent ( at 45 percent ), hunting and fishing scored high ( 37 percent ) and work ranked third ( 14 percent ).

The Manufacturers The ATV market is more mature , product-wise . While those marketsize estimates I mentioned earlier do include ATVs , single-seat fourwheelers are a smaller part of this market . In general , original-equipment manufacturers ( OEMs ) have in recent years put increased emphasis on UTV development . Fourwheel ATVs still serve riders looking for a single-occupant vehicle at a lower retail price . But the off-road market for work and play has shifted to a UTV-focused arena .
