The Morristown facility is also home to the North American Center for Advanced Vehicle Engineering within the Greenworks corporate group , with more than a dozen mechanical , electrical and testing engineers calling Morristown home by the end of 2023 . The U . S . engineering team collaborates with Greenworks ’ main R & D campus in Changzhou , China , and its Autonomous and Robotics R & D Center in Jönköping , Sweden .

Greenworks Commercial reported that , by late 2023 , it will begin manufacturing its fully autonomous , selfdriving commercial ride-on mower – the OptimusAI – in Morristown . The innovative ride-on mower , based on the company ’ s OptimusZ platform design , features GPS-RTK navigation and vision-based live-object avoidance technology , allowing both selfdriving and manned-driving modes . In its self-driving mode , the system operates with an accuracy of one inch .
DOOSAN INFRACORE REBRANDS AS DEVELON The familiar brand of orange construction equipment known as Doosan ( Doosan Infracore North America here in the U . S .) will now be called Develon throughout the world .
Work began to identify a new brand name to replace Doosan following the August 2021 sale of Doosan Infracore to HD Hyundai ( formerly Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings ). The company reports that the name Develon was chosen to convey the company ’ s drive “ to develop onward to bring innovative solutions to the constructionequipment industry through technological transformation and the development of exceptional equipment and services .”
( Editor ’ s note : The name change only applies to Doosan Infracore North America , it does not affect Bobcat ; the two companies became independent operations in 2018 .)
“ We believe the new Develon brand will help us build on the success we ’ ve had in North America over the past 30 years and throughout the world for more than 80 years ,” said Todd Roecker , Develon ’ s vice president of growth initiatives .
As OPE Business reported in December , visitors to CONEXPO-CON / AGG in March will see the next phase of the launch with newly branded construction equipment in the outdoor Develon exhibit . After the expo , continued efforts will be made to advance the brand at the local dealer level through updates to signage and machine decals . Customers are likely to begin to see newly branded machines at local Develon dealerships and on jobsites as early as the end of Q2 2023 , notes Develon .
In North America , Develon will continue supporting its more than 180 dealer locations in the United States and Canada . Develon North American operations will remain headquartered in Suwanee , Georgia , where the company continues to offer a training center for dealership service technicians .
The company will maintain parts availability through its two regional parts distribution centers : one in Atlanta and a second in the Pacific Northwest . In addition , a customization plant in Savannah , Georgia , will still supply machines to Develon dealers and customers .

Develon will continue as a subsidiary in the Hyundai Genuine group alongside Hyundai Construction Equipment ( HCE ). The two subsidiaries will remain independent construction equipment companies under HD Hyundai .
