But that's just the beginning – we have even more exciting news in store for 2018. FOCUS ON CONTROL STATE OPERATIONS StateWays has always provided profi les of agencies and the latest news impacting the control system, but we've placed a renewed emphasis on specifi c content like how public health is impacted by control, and the many programs states have in place for Alcohol Awareness month. We'll still provide the latest information for retail personnel, in addition to stories aimed at en- forcement managers, educators and administrators. RECOGNIZING BEST PRACTICES AND RESPONSIBILITY Once again, StateWays will recognize innovative programs with the Control State Best Practices Awards, highlighted in the September/October issue. The entry pro- cess will open soon at Categories include retail, ware- house, education, enforcement and more – as well as the "Best of the Best" overall award. Enter for your chance to join past overall winners from Virginia, Pennsylva- nia and New Hampshire. EDUCATIONAL EVENT FOR RETAIL MANAGERS For the second year, our sister publication Beverage Dynamics will hold the Beverage Alcohol Retailers Conference, a two-day educational seminar for beer, wine and spirit sellers. This year's conference will be in Denver from June 3-5, and we invite all control state agencies to send representatives to learn about category manage- ment, point of sale systems, sales trends and more. NABCA is an education partner at BARC, helping us bring you the latest data and information impacting control states. Visit to register for BARC. ACCESS TO SPECIAL EDITIONS AND DIGITAL CONTENT In a world with a 24-hour news cycle, it's impossible to cover everything in a mag- azine that comes out six times a year. If you're not a StateWays digital subscriber, you're missing out on exclusive content in our digital edition, monthly newsletter and website. Visit to sign up for access to online content like the New Products Guide, Technology Guide, Holiday Merchandising Guide and more. Finally, let me know what you think of StateWays and how you use our brand to improve your agency. I'm always available at or 203-855-8499 x2213. Hope to hear from you! • JEREMY NEDELKA, EDITOR
