EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY FOCUS RIDING MOWERS www.outdoorpowerequipment.com OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT DECEMBER 2017 45 WALKER MODEL S18 The S18 continues to build on the Walker Model S platform with an 18- hp. Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine and Walker's patented Grass Handling System with Thru-Shaft PTO. The S18 is faster and more powerful, and with reduced weight, it is designed to be productive and efficient. Able to run 36- to 56-inch decks, the S18 is an ideal choice for residential and small commercial properties. This compact and agile mower is available with popular add-ons, including a single- stage snowblower, a 48-inch dozer blade, and a dethatcher. Walker Mfg. Co. THE WORLDLAWN DIAMONDBACK Worldlawn Power Equipment's Diamondback is a residential zero-turn mower that delivers commercial results at an affordable price. With its 8-gauge-steel fabricated deck and triple-layer spindle support, the Diamondback can stand up to a challenge. This unit features dual- adjustment hand lever controls, a Warner electric clutch, a Hydro-Gear transmission and standard ROPS. With adjustable cutting heights of 1.5 to 4.75 inches and travel speeds of up to 9 mph, as well as the capability to mulch, discharge or collect grass, the Diamondback cuts yardwork in half. Worldlawn Power Equipment Inc. WRIGHT SPORT INTENSITY Wright Manufacturing's 36-inch Sport Intensity (a.k.a. Sport I) mower is based on the Stander I. The compact mower combines all of the features of the Stander stand-on mower with the choice of stand-on or sit-down operation. The Sport I's fold-away seat is positioned so the operator can step off for quick exits or to remove debris, and the mower stops immediately. An operator presence switch on the foot platform stops the blade and engine, and the control levers return to the neutral position when the operator lets go. All 3 engines — 18.5, 19 and 22 hp. — deliver a top speed of 8.2 mph, and the Sport I is covered by Wright's 2-year limited warranty. Wright's floating Aero- Core deck on the Sport I tilts side to side and front to back, allowing the deck to better follow the terrain contours. It also improves the weight distribution for better handling on hills. The deck height can be adjusted "on the fly" in 1/4-inch increments, and anti-scalp rollers automatically adjust the deck height to changes in terrain. Operators will appreciate the Aero-Core's improved airflow, cut quality, and anti-blowout features. Elastopolymer bumpers provide a dampened feel similar to a car. The bumpers are progressive to accommodate the weight of various operators. Recessed caster wheels reduce the turning radius. This feature, combined with the compact footprint and outstanding control and handling, allows operators to trim as they mow. The compact size also means more mowers will fit on a trailer.
