The road then drops down into Saline Valley and passes by a salt lake, sand dunes and hot springs. Left: At South Pass, we turned onto Hunter Mountain Road and rode over the 7,100-foot summit, where we stopped to look west and admire the snow-capped Sierra Nevada.
