I anxiously loaded my truck to the brim with gear and headed to Vail , Colorado , to meet up with notable backcountry riders Chris Burandt , Matt Entz and , later , Cole Willford . Sitting in Vail for quite some time , I receive a text from Burandt that said they are running a little late and would be meeting me shortly . Almost simultaneously , I get a text from Entz with a rather incriminating picture of Burandt ’ s trailer in the ditch , followed by a stream of laughing and astonished emoticons . I waited .
