We fueled both our sleds and our bellies before beginning what would be our final trek back to the trailer . We took Trail 31 back towards Park Rapids , part of which went straight through the town of Menahga and a local high school student tailed us as he was leaving school , before we split off and headed north while travelling slightly parallel to Highway 71 .
At one point we crossed an open farm field that allowed us to really open the throttle up over rolling hills , while another section of trail offered a long narrow stretch of tight pines on both sides as if you were headed down a long tunnel of trees .
We arrived back to Osage after dark , and we loaded the sleds that night while talking about the fun times of the past few days . With the Snow Goer truck pointed south this time , I headed back the next day .
