Face-to-Face at HEAT

After a hiatus forced by the pandemic , the HEAT Show returned in September . And now the 2022 show is set for Sept . 27-29 in Providence , R . I .
In mid-September I joined nearly 900 industry members at the HEAT Show at Foxwoods in Connecticut .
The last face-to-face trade show hosted by the folks at the National Energy & Fuels Institute , a . k . a . NEFI , was held two years ago in Providence , Rhode Island . And now Sean Cota , president and CEO of the Institute , has told me that the 2022 HEAT show is set for Sept . 27-29 at the Convention Center in Providence .
When it comes to pulling the trigger on face-toface shows , within the past couple of months it has been hit-or-miss . Covid has been the determining factor on whether face-to-face shows happen or not .
Fortunately , the folks at NEFI seemed to dodge a bullet , at least in terms of the Covid-19 wildcard , a well-known killer of conferences , trade shows , and industry events .
As I pen this in mid-September , there are face-toface events being canceled largely due to Covid-19 infection resurgence . There ’ s no particular pattern , other than the locale and if a resurgence is in play . It has been literally all over the map and it changes daily . Back in July a pretty big show in the Midwest pulled the plug within a week of its opening , due to Covid , and an organizer told me that had the resurgence
