� HOP ENERGY ACQUIRES DOMINICK FUEL
HOP Energy , White Plains , N . Y ., acquired Dominick Fuel , a full-service heating fuels delivery business located in Norwalk , Connecticut , Cetane Associates announced .
A . Dominick & Sons was founded in 1945 by Andrew “ Andy ” Dominick , Sr ., with the intention of turning it into a family business . His three sons were each given a chance , at age 16 , to accompany their father on deliveries during the summer . All three sons learned the business and eventually assumed full ownership in 1982 , changing the name to its current brand , Dominick Fuel , which now delivers heating oil , diesel , and propane .
Within the family , ownership changed hands over the years . Co-owner and General Manager , Randall “ Randy ” Dominick , founder Andy ’ s grandson , said , “ With our strong emphasis on excellence in delivery and service , we are pleased to now be part of HOP Energy because they share those values . Selling to HOP Energy is a win for our customers , employees , and the community of Fairfield County .”
One of the largest heating oil companies in the northeastern United States , established over the last 22 years through the acquisition of over 50 separate heating oil companies , HOP Energy ’ s service area now stretches across eight states from Vermont to Delaware . HOP Energy Chief Executive Officer Michael Anton said , “ We welcome the Dominick Fuel team to our growing business . Their Connecticut roots are a great addition to our operations based on a ‘ local people and local service ’ philosophy .”
Cetane Associates ( www . cetane . net ), Kent , Connecticut , served as the arranger and financial advisor to Dominick Fuel . The transaction closed Aug . 19 and was announced Aug . 26 by Cetane .
� GRANBY INDUSTRIES ACQUIRES ECR INTERNATIONAL
Granby Industries LP , a division of TerraVest Industries Inc ., has announced its acquisition of ECR International Inc ., a division of BDR Thermea . ECR is a manufacturer of heating and cooling products under a family of brand names in North America , including Utica , Dunkirk , and Olsen . The acquisition furthers Granby Industries ’ goal of bringing reliable and efficient heating appliances to the market .

Since 1928 , ECR International , Inc . has been manufacturing heating and cooling products . It has two facilities in upstate New York and distribution points throughout the United States and Canada .
Since it was founded in 1954 , Granby Industries has been manufacturing and distributing residential , light commercial and light industrial tanks for the safe storage and distribution of combustible liquids . With environmental concerns at the forefront , Granby Industries continues to follow a strict policy in its product offering and manufacturing processes to help protect the environment .
