� NPGA: CONGRESS SAVES GAS-POWERED TANKLESS WATER HEATERS
The U. S. Senate voted 53-44 in favor of H. J. Res 20, a Joint Disapproval Resolution introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz( R-TX) under the Congressional Review Act that would nullify a December 26, 2024 rulemaking regarding tankless, gas-fired water heaters, the National Propane Gas Association reported in Bobtail, the association’ s blog.
“ If not repealed, the rule would have removed roughly forty percent of the existing market for non-condensing tankless water heaters and forced consumers to pay up to $ 450 for alternatives,” the blog noted on April 10, the day of the vote.“ This resolution passed the U. S. House of Representatives in early March, with 221 members voting to roll back the regulation. The bill now proceeds to the White House for the President’ s signature, which NPGA expects he will sign without delay.” l FON
