Oil Heat Cares : Helping a Mother and Daughter
Joe Vitale , owner of Vitale & Son Heating , was called to diagnose a broken , dangerous heating system for a mother and daughter in Moscow , Pennsylvania .
“ We found that there was a bad heat exchanger releasing carbon monoxide into the home ,” Joe said . “ So unfortunately , we had to red tag the system and take it out of service . The customer paid me for the diagnostic fee . Shortly after I left , I received a polite text message asking if could set up weekly payment plans for replacing the furnace . The family simply could not afford it .”
The homeowner ’ s husband had recently passed . She is living with her daughter who is pregnant . They both have full-time jobs .
Joe knew they needed help and knew OESP would be there .
“ So , I contacted Pippy Ostrow from F . W . Webb to see what we were able to do to help them out ,” Joe said . “ She reminded me about the Oil Heat Cares program . So , we applied on behalf of this family and were pleased to learn the job was accepted .”
