� NY GROUPS PITCH ‘ PLEDGE TO DELIVER BIOHEAT FUEL ’
“ A​s local policy makers begin to make plans for climate action legislation , it is more important than ever before for energy marketers in Upstate New York and Hudson Valley to work together ,” New York marketer groups say in an email to their members .
The Empire State Energy Association in conjunction with both the Upstate New York Energy Association ( UNYEA ) and the Hudson Valley Oil & Energy Council ( HVOEC ) has partnered with Consumer Focus Marketing to launch “ One Industry — One Choice ” in New York . The program is designed to secure a stable future for the heating fuel industry , they say . One Industry — One Choice is dedicated to educating heating retailers on the importance of embracing Bioheat fuel for the industry ’ s survival and providing support to retailers transitioning to provide Bioheat fuel to their customers , the associations say .
OneIndustryOneChoice . com is a central resource for industry and Bioheat fuel information and supports marketing efforts by Bioheat fuel providers in New York . Retailers in Upstate New York and Hudson Valley have access to professionally designed emails , employee training materials , educational resources , informational live webinars , and other materials to promote Bioheat fuel to their customers and communities .
“ Bioheat fuel is the best solution to protect the future of our industry and provide our customers with an affordable and equitable renewable energy option ,” the groups say in the July 1 email :

� KOPPY ’ S ACQUIRES PROPANE BUSINESS FROM MILLER ’ S GAS & OIL
Koppy ’ s Propane acquired the propane assets related to Miller ’ s Gas & Oil Service , a full-service heating fuels delivery business in central Pennsylvania . The transaction closed on June 15 , announced Cetane Associates , which advised Miller ’ s Gas & Oil on the sale .
With roots in Shamokin , Pennsylvania , since 1928 , Miller ’ s Gas & Oil grew from a gas station with weigh scales and a restaurant to a propane , distillates , and HVAC business originally under the direction of its founders Frank J . Miller and Vera Miller and later , after Frank Miller ’ s death in 1969 , under their son William ’ s leadership . By 1983 , William R . Miller , Jr . ( Bill ), William ’ s son , joined the business , and started the company ’ s propane division . The company is well-known throughout Northumberland and surrounding counties . Owner Bill Miller is retaining the gas station , heating oil and related HVAC operations and assets of the business .
Koppy ’ s Propane dates back to 1944 in Pennsylvania . Since its 1989 move to Williamstown , it has made several acquisitions , also adding multiple storage facilities to become one of the largest independent , family-owned propane suppliers in the state .
Koppy ’ s Propane President Kara Tucker said , “ We are delighted to bring Miller ’ s propane division into the Koppy ’ s Propane family . Their well-known local reputation and loyal customers are welcome additions to our operation . It is of the utmost importance to us to take care of their customers for many years to come .”
