In addition , CEMA was to be meeting with DSS “ to go over what transpired during the legislative session and how we can continue to improve the program for vendors . Our plan is to explore how DSS will implement the new law that requires them to come up with ‘ regional ’ pricing . This is an opportunity for us to go back at changing the MOR to something that is more fair for vendors .
“ While the association made several important changes to the program this year ( i . e ., payment win 10 days opposed to 30 , etc .), a number of members were justifiably disappointed that the MOR remained in place as is . We see an opportunity here with the recent LIEAB committee recommendation to have DSS consider other pricing options for vendors , and the new law that requires DSS to come up with a regional pricing mechanism , as a way to still make changes that will ensure adequate participation and ample choices for LIHEAP customers .”
� VERMONT ALLOTS $ 6M FOR ELECTRIFICATION
Vermont ’ s energy policy to increase the amount of electricity used for heating and transportation “ is getting yet another cash infusion ,” reports The Fuel Line , the newsletter of the Vermont Fuel Dealers Association .
Lawmakers and Gov . Phil Scott “ agreed to extend the sunset on a pilot program that allows Efficiency Vermont to use another $ 6 million in electric ratepayer money over the next three years on programs that incentivize electric vehicles and cold climate heat pumps ,” The Fuel Line reports .
� ZERO-EMISSION TRANSITION
California announced a partnership July 6 with the nation ’ s top truck manufacturers that advances the development of zero-emission vehicles ( ZEVs ) for the commercial trucking industry .
The agreement reached by the California Air Resources Board ( CARB ) and the Truck and Engine Manufacturers Association
( EMA ) and its commercial engine and vehicle members and Ford Motor Company includes a commitment from the companies to meet California ’ s ZEV standards : 100 % clean truck sales by 2036 . The agreement also includes stipulations regarding emissions standards , regulatory changes , and more .
American Trucking Associations President and CEO Chris Spear issued the following statement about the California Air Resources Board ’ s new Clean Truck Partnership :
“ We ’ ve long advocated for a single , national standard that respects and preserves interstate commerce . However , the trucking industry shouldn ’ t be strong armed by the government into an agreement with such terms .
“ Our association represents motor carrier members – the paying customers who will inherit the costs of this agreement – and we will not roll over nor relinquish our right to litigate with any party when our interests are threatened . It is clear that America has lost its way when the government bullies the private
