Dead River Co . acquired Rockingham Oil , a full-service heating provider in New Hampshire , and Roby ’ s Propane Gas , a propane and distillates delivery business in West Wareham , Mass .
Family-owned and -operated Rockingham Oil was founded by Robert Knapp in 2004 . Knapp started in the heating oil industry working with his father . Soon after the business was established William West joined the company and contributed his technology skills . As co-owners , Knapp and West managed Rockingham Oil , which today serves homes and businesses throughout southern New Hampshire and northeastern Massachusetts .
Roby ’ s was founded over 60 years ago by Waldo and Midge Roby , and has a longstanding history of providing residential and commercial customers with energy products and prompt , responsive service . As a major supplier to local cranberry growers , Roby ’ s Propane Gas has established itself in the South Coast and Cape Cod regions of Massachusetts .
Key employee / owners today include Wayne Rutledge , president ; Waldo and Midge Roby ’ s son Wally Roby , operations manager ; and Joyce Bacchiocchi .
Dead River Co ., founded in 1909 by Charles Hutchins , had its roots in the forest products industry . In 1936 , Dead River entered the petroleum business . Today it ’ s a full-service heating operating locally managed offices throughout Maine , New Hampshire , Vermont , and western Massachusetts

� SAIL ENERGY ACQUIRES BLANCHARD ’ S CASH FUEL
Sail Energy of Portsmouth , N . H ., acquired full-service heating fuels and propane delivery business Blanchard ’ s Cash Fuel , a Maine corporation .
In 1995 , Don Blanchard started
Blanchard ’ s Cash Fuel with one truck out of an office at his home . Over the past three decades , Blanchard ’ s has grown to include a facility with multiple office spaces , two garages , a total of 135,000 gallons of heating oil / diesel storage and two 30,000-gallon propane bulk tanks . Blanchard ’ s serves customers in Androscoggin County and surrounding areas . Five members of the Blanchard family share in the ownership .
Founder Don Blanchard said , “ Our goal has always been to provide our customers what they need and do the same for our employees . This transaction with Sail Energy ensures that goal will continue to be met .”
Sail Energy has operated in the energy distribution market since 2014 , growing its market through acquisitions . Sail Energy now serves over 35,000 customers in five New England states , New York , and Pennsylvania . Dennis O ’ Brien is President and Chief Executive Officer of Sail Energy .
Cetane ( www . Cetane . com ) served as the sole arranger to Blanchard ’ s . The transaction was completed on September 30 , 2023 .
� TREMCAR USA PLANT IS UP AND RUNNING
Tremcar USA completed construction of a manufacturing building in Strasburg , Ohio . The extra 20,000 square feet of manufacturing space is devoted to the production of aluminum DOT 406 tank-trailers . With this new development , the production capacity has more than doubled and the company anticipates a twofold increase in production in the next year .
Tremcar established operations in the U . S . in 1998 , and has been in Ohio since 2004 . “ It was time we invested in renovating our installations to meet greater demands from our customers in the USA ,” says Daniel Tremblay , President of the Tremcar group .
The new production facility , which includes three new production lines , has been up and running since mid-October and already the production output has increased . Dave Brooks , General Manager at Tremcar USA , said that the $ 4 million investment was a necessity . “ Production has definitely gone up , our employees are well

established , they master the craft of building quality tanks , and the extra space is definitely the peak in achieving production efficiency .”
Process improvement and safety was at the heart of the decision to expand . Tremblay said , “ We now offer a safer working environment with top-of-theline technology helping our employees to work smarter not harder .”
Tremcar USA has refined its equipment with the latest technology . The company said new equipment includes barrel rotators , fixtures , and tool boxes .
Tremcar USA said it is also finishing an expansion of its service facility , adding two bays to bring the total to 10 . The extra 5,000 square feet of maintenance and repair space will increase service capacity . The service facility is located beside the manufacturing plant .
