� QUARLES ACQUIRES PAPCO ’ S PROPANE BUSINESS
Quarles Petroleum , Inc ., a regional provider of residential and commercial fuel headquartered in Fredericksburg , Virginia , acquired the commercial and residential propane business of Papco , Inc . Quarles will transition Papco propane customers to Quarles ’ service centers in the Southeastern and Central Virginia market areas , it said . Papco is divesting from its propane businesses . It will continue to operate its fuel business based in Virginia Beach .
Established in 1940 as a one-truck oil company in Warrenton , Virginia , Quarles Petroleum is a regional provider of residential propane and oil , commercial delivered fuels , fleet card sites and services , and lubricants . The family-owned firm serves customers in Virginia , Maryland , Delaware , West Virginia , Pennsylvania and North Carolina .
� RESIDEO EXPANDS SMART-HOME OFFERINGS
Resideo Technologies , Inc . acquired energy efficiency technology from Whisker Labs and hired the team behind it . The technology creates a thermodynamic model of a home to predict home heating and air conditioning run time and energy use to enable a homeowner to use less energy while maintaining comfort , Resideo said .
The announcement , in a May 21 statement , marks the second acquisition by Resideo since it became a standalone , publicly traded company following its spinoff from Honeywell in October 2018 . The technology complements Resideo ’ s portfolio of connected thermostats , including the Honeywell Home T-Series Smart Thermostats – the T9 and T10 Pro – which feature wireless smart-room sensors to deliver a desired temperature to a specific room in the home when and where it ’ s needed . � THERMO PRIDE PRODUCTS MOVE TO WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTION
After nearly 70 years of selling its Thermo Pride products directly to installing contractors , manufacturer Thermo Products shifted its business model to wholesale distribution . Thermo Pride products are now available through wholesale distribution in most areas , the company said .

In the fall of 2018 , the premium Thermo Pride products were switched from dealer direct to distribution in the Mid-Atlantic region and New York State . Most recently the switch occurred in New England and the remaining areas will follow in the coming months , the company said . Thermo Products was established in 1946 in North Judson , Indiana . � MARSHALL , MUISE JOIN FIREDRAGON ACADEMY
Firedragon Academy announced that Bruce Marshall and Paul Muise have been added as instructors . Marshall is acting as adjunct supervising instructor , teaching during the summer training season , and is responsible for seminars in eastern Massachusetts . In addition , he is an adjunct laboratory instructor at Firedragon ’ s training facility at the Beckett Training Center in Sturbridge , Massachusetts .
Marshall began his career in the heating industry in 1968 as an oil truck driver in South Boston . From there he went on to become a heating service technician , independent heating contractor and oil company owner . In 1987 he began teaching oil burner technologies at the New England Fuel Institute . In 1992 , he went to work as a boiler company representative in eastern

Massachusetts , gaining a reputation as a “ hands-on ” instructor . In 1998 , he went to work for Suntec pumps , covering New England and New York . He helped develop a training program to teach technicians modern fuel-pump technology .
In 2005 , Marshall joined Emerson-Swan as the training coordinator . Marshall retired from Emerson-Swan in November 2017 . Marshall is a recipient of the Hugh McKee Award and the Holloman Lifetime Contribution to Comfort Award , established and presented by Taco Comfort Solutions .
Paul Muise is joining the Firedragon staff as a primary adjunct laboratory instructor at the Firedragon facility in Sturbridge . He began his career in the heating industry in 1977 as an oil truck driver / serviceman in Worcester County , Massachusetts , and went on to become a heating service technician and service manager .
