NPGA SOUTHEASTERN CONVENTION & INTERNATIONAL PROPANE EXPO : APRIL 13-15
The NPGA Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo will be held April 13-15 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta , Georgia .
Tucker Perkins , president & CEO , Propane Education & Research Council , will address attendees at 2:30 p . m . on Saturday , April 13 . Perkins will deliver the PERC Update , detailing how PERC is changing to better help marketers overcome challenges . “ Today ’ s propane marketers face real threats from natural gas expansion , driver shortages , dwindling weather demand , customer and employee retention , and public pressure to eliminate fossil fuels Tucker Perkins usage ,” the online program notes . Perkins will share strategies for your company to leverage opportunities for your propane business .
The keynote speaker is Jose Rene “ J . R .” Martinez , an American actor , author , motivational speaker , and retired U . S . Army solider . He will speak at 3 p . m . on Saturday , April 13 . In March of 2003 , Martinez was deployed to Iraq . In April he sustained severe burns to over 34 % of his body when his Humvee hit a roadside bomb . Since his recovery , Martinez has since become a highly sought-after motivational speaker .
He has traveled around the country speaking about his experiences to corporations , veterans ’ groups , schools and other organizations .
Martinez began his acting career on the Emmy Award winning daytime drama All My Children . Since then he ’ s appeared on numerous television shows . Many remember him best as the season 13 champion on Dancing with the Stars . He is the author of the New York Times bestseller “ Full of Heart : My Story of Survival , Strength , and Spirit .” Martinez serves as a spokesperson for Operation Finally Home , as well as for the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors , and Glasswing International . After the keynote address , a reception will be held in the Expo Hall from 4 p . m . to 7 p . m .
Events on Sunday , April 14 , include “ Women in Propane Roundtable : Operations and Sales on the Same Page ,” from 3:30 p . m . to 5 p . m . The speaker is Paige O ’ Dell , vice president of operations , AmeriGas Propane . “ Good leaders ask great questions and rise in the ranks of their organizations ,” notes the online program for this event . “ At AmeriGas , operations executive management requires the most effective leaders in the company . Industry leader Paige O ’ Dell shares insights and personal stories from her impressive career . She relates her experiences in successful business operations and how a close relationship with sales teams makes a difference . Audience members engage in roundtable discussions following her presentation .”
O ’ Dell serves as a member of the AmeriGas executive leadership team and is tasked with leading operations in the Central region . Her other roles at AmeriGas have included director posts in strategic initiatives , regional and area operations , special projects , and national accounts . With more
