Hard As Nails

Urs Pedraita isn’ t your average 52-year-old. He’ s Swiss, his nickname is“ Grizzly” and he rode the long way across six continents in just 72 days, 13 hours, setting a new world record. Pedraita rode a toal of 48,259 miles— an average of 665 miles per day, every day, for two and a half months— on pavement, on dirt, through mud and snow, through dozens of countries. And he did it on a cruiser— a Victory Cross Country with extra lights, an 8.7-gallon fuel tank, a well-padded seat and two security features you won’ t find in any accessory catalog: a flamethrower and a lever-operated trap that dumps nails onto the road. Victory Motorcycles may have died an untimely death, but Grizzly will probably live forever.
