Sips To Spruce Up Your Winter Holidays

AS FALL STARTS to turn to winter , we tend to focus on Thanksgiving , Christmas and all the December holidays . While these cocktails will add to any festive occasion , they also can help warm winter ’ s chill after the new year starts .
Fig & Thyme
Banana Puddin Fizz
Holiday Gimlet
2 ½ oz . Wonder bird gin ½ oz . Lime juice ½ oz . Holiday simple syrup * 1 sprig Rosemary
Add gin , lime juice and holiday simple syrup to a shaker . Add ice shake until chilled . Strain into a chilled cocktail glass . Garnish with rosemary sprig .
* For Holiday simple syrup : 1 oz . Grated fresh ginger 1 tsp . Whole cloves ½ cup Cranberry juice ½ cup Water 1 cup Sugar

1 ½ oz . Santa Teresa 1796 rum 1 ½ oz . Red wine ( cabernet sauvignon ) ½ oz . Lemon juice ½ oz . Orange liqueur ½ oz . Cinnamon simple syrup ⅛ oz . Absinthe ( optional ) 1 ½ oz . Sparkling wine

Combine and bring to a boil . Stir until the sugar dissolves . Let steep until cooled . Strain and refrigerate .

2 oz . Peg Leg Porker bourbon ½ oz . Creme de banana liqueur ½ oz . Simple syrup ½ oz . Lemon juice ½ oz . Lime juice 1 oz . Heavy cream Egg white Soda water
Add all ingredients except the soda water to a shaker with 2 ice cubes . Shake hard and strain , top with soda water . Garnish with a candied banana slice .

Shake all ingredients except sparkling wine with ice . Double strain into a coupe or cocktail glass and top with sparkling wine . Garnish with a cinnamon stick , star anise , grated nutmeg and an orange peel .
