ADAM ALLORE

Founder & CEO , Wavve Boating
Adam Allore aims to spend as much time on the water as possible .
For years , Wavve Boating founder and CEO Adam Allore has been focused on a mission to make on-the-water experiences both more accessible and safer to all who enjoy them .
From a young age , Allore had boating in his blood . Growing up on the St . Lawrence River in Ontario , Allore ’ s parents were lifelong boaters and sure to share a love for the water with their son .
“ I absolutely grew up on the water and I was very fortunate in that regard ,” Allore told Boating Industry . Allore remarked that right from a young age , he was on the water and building a passion for an on-the-water lifestyle .
Allore made the transition from a recreational boater to learning the business side of boating while working to pay for his mechanical engineering degree at an area marina .
“ That ’ s really where I began to learn and understand the commercial aspects of the marine industry and it really just furthered my passion for the marine space ,” Allore said .
It was during his time at the marina that Allore started noticing common problems across boaters in the area . First , he noticed that many boaters , especially first-time boaters , were struggling with how to navigate and reading nautical charts .
“ Especially where we were located on the St . Lawrence , it ’ s a very treacherous body of water . So if you don ’ t know how to read the charts or you don ’ t really know where you ’ re going , it can turn into a bad day really quickly and it ’ s easy to run into some trouble ,” Allore said .
Next , Allore began noticing that as a member of the local boating community , he was often getting a lot of the same questions from people again and again ; Where ’ s a good spot to get food , where are the good beach spots , on and on .
After graduating with his degree , Allore moved on from the marina to work as an engineer for the next seven years , both in the commercial marine space and in other industries .
“ I learned so much in my endeavors , but there was consistently this ‘ itch ’ that I missed from my time in school , working with a small , passionate team to create and build ,” Allore explained . “ I feel like I was always searching for that in every experience since .”
With that itch needing a scratch and thinking back to his days at the marina , Allore began thinking about how to combine his desire to work with a small , passionate team , with a solution to make boaters ’ experiences better on the water .
“ That was definitely the moment of ‘ ok , I ’ ve got an idea , now let ’ s kick something off ’ and so I took it and ran with it ,” Allore said . “ The concept I had in my head was to rethink the nautical chart and really look at it again with beginners ’ eyes .”
With a base of nautical data , Allore designed a map for the waters in his area that simplified things , but also remained custom to his personal vessel – factoring length , draft , etc . He wanted to simply make things easy to follow on the map – everywhere you can ’ t go you see in red , channel markers look exactly like they do on the water , and so on .
From there , Allore and his brother-in-law hosted the map on a website and took his then non-existent company “ Wavve ” to an area boat show to gauge interest in the idea .
“ We had such phenomenal feedback and interest ,” Allore said . “ So much so that we had people trying to go to the App Store to try and get the program there on the spot and we had to quickly explain that it was still in beta .”
At that point , Allore made the decision to quit his engineering job and become an entrepreneur and work toward making Wavve Boating the very real thing that it is today .
Over the last five years , Allore and his small , passionate team have built Wavve Boating into a resource for boaters in many locations all around
Allore is sure to instill a passion for the water in the next generation .
